An open world and narrative multiverse horror experience!

Server Lore
Our concept was created around an idea that was meant to bring many iconic characters together in one world in order to meld into an original narrative experience. To give players a chance to play as iconic movie ghouls and even original characters of their creation as well that coexist in one environment. Our goal is to bring lovers of the horror genre together and enjoy this experience together. Our theme is driven by player actions, and that is what will forge the endless number of potential plots that will occur here. Everyone has a place, and everyone is welcome.

The year is 2201, and we are currently in October for our setting. An unknown force has somehow converged all of our worlds and realities into a single universe, housing your deepest and darkest nightmares. Earth is now home to every horror imaginable, and the terror even extends into space. Certain individuals may find that they themselves have been plucked from a designated point in their own reality, each unique in their own way. Even entire geographical points of interest have manifested, giving shelter and identity to these new residents that are both familiar to some, and strange to others. But with this new world, all of those scary stories that your parents used to tell you at night? It followed you here. Sometimes, the Boogeyman is real.
Canon of our server
Factions in our server work a bit differently than most. Because of the sheer amount of content that exists in horror, we have categorized factions based on a summarized portion to track everyone easier: We have also tried our best to have consistency make sense for a wide variety of characters here

Movie Monsters
Because the classic movie monsters like Dracula and Wolfman are so iconic and respected among the classic horror genre, we have created our own canon for them in our server. Since they have to make sense with the rest of the many horror sources, we have made our lore headcanons below that we believe are important for things to make sense and have consistency. It is also important to note that since there are multiple versions of certain characters like Dracula for example, we are only allowing one of each. So it is up to the players to decide on which version of the character they want. Once that version is picked, it becomes server canon. If the choices conflict with each other, then we may allow a change in the characters:
The Wolfman as well as every other werewolf in horror does have an origin. The origin lies in gypsy legend, where the curse originated from black magic centuries ago. That lore is used for their origin, and the different breeds/types of werewolves are the result of evolutionary mutations over the years. Which would explain why some werewolves look different than others from movies and tv shows. But they all come from the same origin and are all connected in some way.
Dracula was not the original Vampire, as the origins are of an ancient black magic much like Werewolves. Dracula is simply a very ancient and powerful Vampire who counts himself among the oldest. And like werewolves, the vampiric disease has changed and mutated over the years as well and affected some strands differently.
In the Mummy movies, remake and original, Imhotep is the original Mummy here. Ahmanet is just an example of another mummy from a later time.
Mogwai & Gremlins
A brief history on the species
Mogwai were created as a test for humanity. One God thought humans were stupid, greedy, destructive creatures and the other swore that humans were capable of being peaceful. Thus the Mogwai were brought into the world and given to humanity as a present with three simple rules to follow. This task would soon prove too monumental and humanity would fail their test. The original Mogwai became very popular among the humans for their adorable looks and friendly nature. So much so that when the second rule was broken, people everywhere wanted their own. Human greed took over and soon everyone wanted their own Mogwai. More rules were broken and a spiral of catastrophe ensued. The resulting fallout ended in a whole city completely destroyed and hundreds dying in the process. Thus the Gods were forced to intervene and destroy all but one of their creations. This Mogwai would later be known as "Gizmo".Mogwai Species
Standing at about a foot in height, and coming in a spectrum of colors, the first Mogwais were known as "Eternals". Mogwai have their own language that they share amongst themselves, but are capable of understanding and even repeating human phrases. Their intelligence allows them to quickly understand how things work and hands-on experimentation reinforces anything they're taught. Mogwai don't need water and enjoy eating just about anything. Mogwai are functionally immortal unless killed by outside means and legends state that eating a Mogwai whole will grant eternal life, though that is pure speculation. The RulesRule #1 - Keep them out of the light.
Mogwai eyes are incredibly sensitive to light. Anything above reasonably dim or light produced by small fires causes serious pai, often with the Mogwai fleeing and yelping. The creatures are also vulnerable to sunlight, which is lethal to them if they're left out for too long. Though meant to teach humans to keep their Mogwai alive, this rule is often the best way of dealing with the results of breaking the third rule.Rule #2 - Don't get them wet.
When water is introduced to a Mogwai's body, a very strange reaction occurs. The back of the creature begins to bubble and pulsate, causing a great deal of pain. After a short period (and depending on the length of exposure), four to five pods jettison themselves from the birthing parent's back. These pods begin as golf-ball size but quickly inflate until they are about the size of a basketball. At this point, the balls unfold themselves to reveal newly spawned Mogwai. These Mogwai often share physical traits with the parent that spawned them but can have distinguishing features of their own. Freshly spawned Mogwai do not feel any parental attachment to the original and are considered fully grown in about a minute of life. Newborn Mogwai tend to follow the strongest (or smartest) among them and are mischievous by nature: biting at fingers, pulling nasty pranks on others and tampering with electronics. Make no mistake, they are dangerous even at this stage. They will do everything in their power to break the third rule, as they are genetically programmed to seek the next stage in their lifecycle.Rule #3 - Never feed them after midnight.
This rule refers to what happens should a Mogwai consume anything when the moon is at its highest point. When this happens, the Mogwai will find a dark place to hide. Like a caterpillar, the Mogwai cocoon themselves in a thick, sticky substance and go into hibernation. During this "pupal stage", the Mogwai undergoes a dramatic transformation. This process will last roughly eight hours and they are immobile until the transformation finishes. Once fully mutated, the creature will emerge and leave its pod behind to seek water.Corrupted Mogwai (Gremlins)
Nicknamed "Gremlins” by Billy Peltzer during the Kingston Falls incident of 1984, Corrupted Mogwai are practically the opposite of their furry counterparts. Standing at three feet, covered in thick reptilian scales, and losing their adorable nature entirely, Gremlins are the punishment that occurs when the rules are broken. These creatures embody chaos. Left unchecked, they can completely overwhelm civilizations within hours. Newly hatched gremlins will seek out large bodies of water such as bathtubs, fountains, pools or even lakes to submerge themselves. This will spawn more Corrupted Mogwai who will also get wet and spawn more. While vulnerable alone, these creatures often seek to create clans that can number in the thousands. Gremlins are social creatures that can form bonds with each other, though they have no qualms with injuring or killing one-another for a quick laugh. LIke Mogwai, they often rally behind one of their own. These leaders are smarter, stronger, and more vicious than the rest of the horde. Armed with claws, teeth, and a penchant for tampering with technology, these little monsters can seriously harm or even kill humans through their antics. Most Gremlins are malicious, but not outwardly hostile to human beings. They can (and have) allowed humans to live around them so long as it suits them (or so long as they don't get bored.)It is the handiwork of Gremlins tampering with electronics, car brakes, or other vital machinery, that make them such a threat. In the modern age, they seek to have fun above all else by indulging in what the world has to offer.
Urban Legends
Characters that represent the embodiment of holidays, or those tied to prominent folklore and stories. Examples being Samhain for Halloween and Krampus for Christmas. We will recognize these types of characters in our server as server canon to those holidays and stories, and may even count on the owners of the characters to use them during special times in order to spread fear or delight. These characters must always be canon characters from a source, and never OCs. As these characters are claimed, they will be the canon version of our server.
Movie Faction
Each character no matter who or what they are, always belong to a certain horror movie or misc. source. Even a book. Those characters always fall under their source category and are all connected to the same version of canon to be better connected continuity wise. With people falling under a movie or other misc. category, we always know those characters are together or belong to the same source. Building plots around them are then a lot easier. For OCs, they can also fall under a specific movie or misc. category if they are built around a certain theme.
Awareness
People of our world are no more aware of the many terrors out there, than they are in the movies. These figures and plots are simply a part of this world. For many, these things are just scary stories to tell children at night. But for some, it is all too real.
Hell & other Dimensions
Horror has many different versions of Hell or other realms for the Other Side. They are all pieces in some way or another, of a bigger whole. Below we are going to create our own canon for them to make sense together in our lore and only include the sources that stand out among the traditional Hell depictions. Hell is real, but the realms below are only pieces of it:
Hellraiser: The Cenobites are from an extra-dimensional realm connected to Hell, and only a piece of a bigger whole. Here they enact both pleasure and pain to it's residents. It is ruled by Leviathan.
Insidious: The Further is a realm of the Dead. A place where souls are stuck in Limbo. It is ruled by Sixtass. In this realm, spirits and ghosts are subservient to demons and often tortured or punished.
World Mechanics
Traveling
Realistically. We don't expect people to take weeks to travel to a new place, but atleast include in your posts that you came from a previous place if your next roleplay scene is in another area. Our lore takes place all over.
Your personal Gear
This isn't a video game. You do not have a bottomless inventory box. You must carry what you can physically can, and that's it. So make sure to keep that in mind when situations require planning. You can't magically create a knife out of thin air, so please be fair to others in roleplay.
Law and Crimes
Murder and theft is some crazy shit, yea? Well be prepared to own up to your deeds if somebody reports you or police characters decide to call it in. Players can be just about anything they want, and there's lot's opportunities for characters out there too. So if you're a killer, maybe try and think before you cut that next throat in public.
Life & Death
Some characters are mortal, and some are even immortal. Some die, and some are impossible to kill. That's unfortunately how it is. Some can even die and then come back to life if needed. We've seen things happen to all kind's of characters in movies, so that same logic applies here. If your character dies, never fear, as there's always a chance to bring them back if you've earned it, even if they are human. Weird stuff happens in horror.
Server OOC Rules
Don't be a jerk, rude, or anything of the sort.
Do not be aggressive OOC, don't be horrible to everyone, or treat anybody like dirt. This also means no being transphobic, homophobic, racist, sexist, or anything like that.
You can swear. So long as you don't go overboard and do it excessively or use any slurs. Keep in mind, maturity is still expected and children are present.
Do not link other servers without permission, or link any harmful materials. Do not post invites to your server, or link NSFW content. Furthermore, linking anything such as viruses or illegal sites is strictly prohibited. DMing other members invites to a server is also not allowed, and very disrespectful.
Don't Spam unless it's in the spam/vent channel. Pretty self explanatory.
Use channels how they're meant to be used. For example, memes go in the pictures and memes channel. And whatever you do, do not have a discussion in character submission channels, or any channel that is not for talking. Reduce the clutter.
Do not argue with Staff. If Staff tells you something is / isn't allowed, then that's it, do not excessively argue with them or try to bend the rules and guidelines. You may make suggestions or give your opinion, but do not outright go against their word. If you feel as if a staff member is being unfair in any way, then notify the owner or an admin and they will look into it.
Try to use common sense. The rules here are very simple, and straightforward. We are flexible, but use common sense if you don't see something here. We promote a friendly, and intelligent environment, and foolishness isn't needed. We expect you to also think for yourselves.
Enforcement Methods. When you do not follow the rules and guidelines of the server, Staff will enforce a basic procedure of two verbal warnings, followed by a mute. If you misbehave once more, you get your second mute. After that, it is a kick, followed by a full ban. Please try your best to help spread a friendly environment here. Depending on the severity of the offense, we also have the right to immediately remove somebody if it's bad enough, so behave.
Be Active. We cannot stress this enough! Activity ensures the server runs smoothly and efficiently, as well as promising a fun environment for all. Active people also have the chance of being granted higher tier rewards in roleplay, and spots in special events. Higher rewards are a privilege, and must be earned. If you're inactive, then don't be surprised if you're limited on these things.
All server related discussions belong in the server. This means no DMing questions to staff without permission, or bugging other members in their DMs with questions or matters that can be handled in the server. We have channels for a reason, so use them.
Do not RP in DMs only. For obvious reasons, RPing in DMs only, takes away from the server. You can RP in DMs if it's something not for the public, but do not just stay there for long periods of time. If you do, we will automatically assume you're inactive in the server "Which you are". RPing in DMs is not only frowned upon, but also disrespectful to all the hard work that was put into creating and maintaining this server.
Trolling isn't ok. We take our content pretty seriously here and want to provide a fun environment for all. Please consider the hard work that was put into this server. Do not deliberately post joke submissions, and please do not attempt to troll the server in general.
We are open to all ages, though our target audience is 16+ due to maturity reasons. Many of us were fairly ok with watching and playing the various horror sources out there when we were kids. This server is no exception.
English only. This is an English speaking server, and that extends to it's literacy and grammar as well. Our standards fall within this specifically, so keep that in mind when making content or being in our server. Try your best if English is not your first language. You will not get special treatment, as there are various resources that exist that can help you.
Nitro Boosters. Nitro Boosting enables you to get a special role name of your choosing, as well as a color code that sets you apart from everyone else. You will also have access to an exclusive Booster/Founders chat. You must ask for it in the questions and suggestions channel, because we will not always know if you boosted or not.
Maturity is expected, and you come here acknowledging that mature things happen in roleplay, regardless of your age. Death and Dismemberment is a very real thing in roleplay and movies. If you have red flags or things you'd like to avoid, let us know and we will try to work around things with you.
Partnerships. To partner with us, your server must be a friendly and welcoming community of at least 20 members. The Owner or a trusted Admin must contact us in order to establish a connection and send a trusted staff member to stay in our server to be a representative in good faith. That member will be given the Partner role. We will do the same thing for yours. As our numbers increase in the server, our standards for partnership may increase as well, and this rule will reflect it over time.
Server Roleplay Rules
Don't metagame. This means you're not allowed to use information your character shouldn't have. For example, don't have your character suddenly know all a persons secrets or weaknesses without rightfully having gained that knowledge first.
Don't powerplay. Don't force actions on other characters, includes no autohitting, and no controlling characters that aren't yours. Discuss differences in character potential and have respect for one another.
Don't control major NPCs. While you may control minor things like a regular civilian, you may not control, for example, a canon if it isn't yours, or of a higher position, or anything of note unless they are your character. The only exception to this rule is staff, who may control any NPC due to GMing for other players to help them out in personal plot if need be.
Combat. We run on honor-based combat. Please use common sense when fighting one another. Take hits when it makes sense, and recognize that your opponent is indeed stronger if this is the case in that specific situation. A regular civilian for example, cannot best a highly dangerous monster one on one on pure skill, nor can they suddenly become a trained fighter or something overnight. Be creative and smart.
PTK. You may not kill characters without permission. However, you can wound or maim somebody if they are constantly harassing you. Actions do have consequences. Discuss it with staff first and get permission from the other person if things get too out of hand. You will not lose your character due to the toxic behavior of another player, so do not worry. We will take care of you.
Rp in the third person, please. Quite self explanatory.
Ask before joining a major faction, or being related to somebody. Don’t make weird headcanons without the character owner's permission, and don’t join factions without roleplaying the introduction first and going through the faction leader. Please have respect for the canon characters as well, because forcing relatives or kids on somebody is not fair to that player. Some people don't want kids.
Ask First. Before you join a rp, please ask the participants if it’s okay first.
Please try to be Semi-Literate. We highly encourage atleast 2-5 sentences minimum. Let's all have fun here! This includes spelling full words out. No shortcuts or slang unless your character actually speaks that way. Higher literacy also shows us you are deserving of higher characters. The higher the character, the more literacy will be required.
ERP is NOT allowed in the server. Take your stuff to DMs. Minor things like romance and flirting/kissing is ok. But anything more must be faded to black or taken to DMs.
Tupperbot. All players are required to use a Tupper for their character. This ensures a clean and organized roleplay atmosphere within the server, as well as a stable and consistent theme for everyone while roleplaying. It must be some kind of realistic or semi-realistic artwork or live adaptation. If you draw your own content, then please make sure it also fits our theme as well. Stick figures and anime is not acceptable. This extends to all character art.
Forums. In our server, we use forums for roleplay scenes. Ensure that the forum itself is named appropriately. We are allowing players to evolve the locations themselves by adding sub locations to each forum in order for it to grow. Try to avoid making an area somebody else has made, as each creation will be a public space for everyone to roleplay in. This is to ensure roleplay is condensed in the channels and it also helps others to easily find scenes without having to scroll through a million posts. For example, if you are in Camp Crystal Lake and what to roleplay at the archery range, then you may create it if it doesn't already exist. It will remain forever if it's allowed, and everyone will be able to use it.
Claiming a Canon Character
When claiming a canon, you post the wikia page in the Request channel. If staff allows it to exist in the server, then you will be given the necessary roles and can then freely use the character. The wiki page will be given a green check. We trust that you will claim characters that you understand, or wish to grow into more. We still prioritize narrative storytelling.
Limitations
Alternate Canons: The movies all have multiple versions of canons. It is up to you to decide which one you want. For example the different versions of Jason Voorhees. There's only one version of Jason here, and we won't allow claiming of the others separately The same goes for all characters. The age and version of your character is determined by the first person who claims the Canon character in the server. If the character is dropped, that canon is still the same unless the character was barely used or didn't affect plot in a significant way. Then we can give you a free pass to change it.
Banned
Certain characters do not have a alternate version simply due to their own concepts already being cosmic or multiversal in nature. Pennywise for example does not have a alternate version, and neither do extraterrestrial creatures like The Thing. We will monitor characters as they get requested.
Anything overly obnoxious, like literal gods.
Anime and cartoons. Due to most of them having conflicting themes and settings that wouldn't fit our own setting and tone. If the source originated from a book or movie, then the book or movie is of course allowed. Video games May be allowed depending on the source, as some like Silent Hill could potentially fit in our world in some way. We are always looking for suggestions. If you like anime, we have another server for that.
